My Christmas Wish List

At the risk of being struck down for being so bold and ungrateful, I've decided to make a Christmas List of my own. Sadly, what I really want can't be purchased in a department store or wrapped up with a pretty bow. Keep you furry slippers, Santa, this is what I really want:

- I want a full night of sleep that doesn't involve chasing monsters out of Max's closet, getting medicine for Hank's cough, or feeding a hungry baby in the middle of the night. Sleeping in? No such thing.

- I want a warm home-cooked meal that we can enjoy as a family without Max throwing bits on the floor and Hank negotiating the number of bites he has to eat before he can get a treat.

- I want a few more hours in the day, preferably after the kids' 8pm bedtime and my 10pm bedtime, to enjoy a little "me time"--read a book, watch TV....maybe even take up a hobby??

- I really don't need new clothes, but it sure would be nice to own something that a) wasn't from my high school wardrobe collection; b) wasn't bought off the clearance rack; or c) doesn't already have dried spit-up stains on the shoulder.

- I'd like to spend some quality time with my husband--and I don't mean while grocery shopping at Walmart.

-  I'd like to have the type of girlfriend who understood that somedays I need a pint of icecream and a good listening ear and somedays I need a firm peptalk and to be told to shape up.

- And, finally, if I can only have one thing, I just want my baby to be happy. I want him to grow up to reach his full potential. I want him to experience life, set goals and accomplish them, enjoy friendships and relationships, learn, love others. I want him to have it all. I want to be able to give it all to him.

Thats all. Thats not too much to ask for, is it?

Nope, I don't think it's too much at all. In fact, I'm with you on all of them! :)

so do you need ice cream or the pep talk today? :)

great list I am with you on all of those things... not to be preachy- the sleep will come, sooner than you think. I remember that feeling of thinking I would never sleep again it really wasn't that long ago... w/out all those things you crazy as it might sound- I sometimes wish for a baby to hold in the middle of the night or just a baby that needs me! :)
I think you are great courtney- have I told you that lately?

"...peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; and then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high..."D&C 121: 7-8.

this is just a hard season of your life. The good thing is that the joys are equal to the difficulties. They are just sprinkled throughout the daily trials.

I can cover wish 1,3 and 5. I can also cook you a meal and take Hank and Max away so you can enjoy it....but it would mean you wouldn't be a family. I think I can make #4 happen by whispering in a certain someones ear. About the last one, I think he's happy, but I understand. Merry Christmas, I love you very much.

Wish I had of visited your blog awhile ago. Please know you can always call me and I'll bring the ice cream and you tell me if I should listen, or pep talk. I really honestly mean that.
