Fore!

If I'm going to keep up with my pack of boys, I'm going to need to invest in some golf lessons because these boys BEG their dad to take them golfing. If I'm not careful, I may get left behind one of these days while they all take off on the course without me. On second thought....😉

I Love To See The Temple

Every, and I mean EVERY, time we drive by a temple the boys burst into singing the primary song, "I Love To See The Temple." So, I thought it would be special to take the boys to visit the Payson temple open house and show the boys what the inside of the temple looks like and discuss a few of the reasons why temples are so important. They weren't keen on getting into their church clothes on a Friday afternoon to go stand in long line, but they actually seemed really interested to see the baptismal font and the sealing rooms.

I hope the boys will remember this day--the reverence we felt in the presence of the house of God--and make it a goal to return again when they are 12.

Of course, even good experiences have their "opposition in all things." In this case, I can't even recall what was bothering Joey, but he picked the pre-tour video as a good time to throw a fit and sit on the floor and pout.

The tour involved a fair amount of walking, which is not Ben's favorite activity, so we listened to Ben on repeat the entire time saying, "I'm ready to go home." By the time we climbed the third staircase Ben was exhausted and Aaron and I took turns carrying him the rest of the way. Things got extra tricky when Joey and Rocky both decided that they'd rather be carried than walk, too.

We may or may not have bribed the boys' for good behavior with doughnuts.

Tasmanian Devil

It will be a small miracle if the house is still standing after this one has done what he does best. I can't believe that I am really considering dead-bolting my pantry door...but there are only so many times I can sweep bag-fulls of flour off my flour before certain measures must be taken.

In his defense, it was actually Joey who used a chair to steal my red fingernail polish...but Rocky was complicit in the sneaky plan and painted his hair, legs, my closet carpet, and several pairs of shoes with the paint.

Spectators

You'd think these two would know the drill by now with as many sports functions that they get dragged along to, but boy if they don't give me a run for my money, chasing them off the field, keeping them out off street, and supervising them on the playground, all while keeping one eye on the ball game.

5k!

These two ran their hearts out at the school 5k. I actually felt a little teary as I stood at the finish line, parents clapping and cheering, waiting for the kids to finish the race...it was just so sweet to see how much the kids were pushing and to see the looks of accomplishment on their faces when they finished something hard.  The achievement was in the completion, but I have to add...Hank and Max kicked a big butt.

Sunday Naps

Upgrading to a king-sized bed was one of the best decisions we ever made....seeing as how more often than not we end up sharing it with at least one little monkey.

Caught In The Act

Sometimes they have a funny way of showing it, but these boys really do love each other.
