Chopped Liver

I can't figure out why Aaron can do any old menial task, take mowing the lawn for example, and the boys scramble to follow his every step; meanwhile, I knock myself out taking the boys on little excursions--this week we went bowling together and I even took them to Trafalga (aka Crazyland)--and yet the boys think I'm as much fun as a wet blanket. Sorry boys, I guess you're stuck with boring old me.

The boys put a little friendly wager on the bowling game--loser makes dinner. In the last frame, Hank pulled out a strike for the win. So, Max made dinner--gourmet quesodillas!

Joey's Special Day

I'm so grateful for the sacred priesthood power to invoke special blessings upon our children. Today, Aaron gave Joey a beautiful blessing that he would understand the importance of eternal families, have the ability to know right from wrong, and to have the desire to serve a mission. I am blessed to be the mother to four handsome, righteous sons--chosen and saved especially to be future missionaries in these last days. How proud I am of each of them and what examples they each are to me! I pray to the Lord daily for guidance to raise these boys up in the gospel to become future missionaries, priesthood holders, and fathers.

Did I Say You Could Do That?

This boy. He just never ceases to thrill and amaze me. When he decides to do something, there is just no stopping him.

I love that proud little look on his face, saying, "Check me out, Mom!"

#10 Water Balloons

After brainstorming our summer bucket list, I asked the boys which item on the list they were most excited about. Of all of the fun things on the list, they said they were most excited about the water balloons. I tell you, its the simple things....give them a few cheap balloons, fill them with water, and there you go, we've just fufilled their biggest summer dream!

Summer Bucket List '12

School is out for the year--let summer begin! What would summer be without our annual summer bucket list? We better get busy! We've got some very ambitious summer plans!

Worth a Try

If I take millions of pictures, can I hang on to every moment and keep him little forever?

Memorial Day 2012

Historically, our Memorial Day holiday has consisted of either being sick as dogs or stuck in a torrential down pour. We were long overdue for a good Memorial Day. This year did not disappoint. We packed up the kids (literally--Ben got backpacked and Joey got frontpacked), met up with Ryan and Mindy and fam, and set out hiking Battlecreek Falls.

The kids loved tossing rocks into the stream that ran beside the trail.

Ben just tolerated the hike. I think it made him nerveous to be seven feet up in the air, strapped to Aaron's back. As long as the snacks kept coming, he seemed to put up with it.

Joey is right at home in his front pack so he didn't make one peep.
